Alun Evans CBE – Chair

Trustee since 2015

Alun is a historian and political consultant.  Prior to that he was, for over 30 years a civil servant in a range of government departments.  He worked for a number of senior Cabinet Ministers, including Tony Blair.  He was, for four years, Chief Executive of the British Academy.  He wrote his PhD on the role and history of the ministerial private office.  It was published as The Intimacy of Power in 2024.

Martin Young

Trustee since 2011

Martin is a barrister in private practice  He is a graduate from Queen Mary University of London.  He served for [four years] as a councillor in Tower Hamlets.  He is a past Board member of the Attlee Youth and Community Centre and also serves on the boards of several local charities.  He is a past deputy Chair of the Isle of Dogs Community Foundation.

Jo Roundell Greene

Trustee since 2017

Jo is one of Clement Attlee’s granddaughters. Jo is a member of Somerset County Council.  She has a special interest in education and young people.

John Stephenson

Trustee since 2019

John is a Chartered Engineer and former Production Director, having worked in factories in the Aerospace, rail, and defence industries.  A member and past President of the Bath Chamber of Commerce, John is a keen advocate for manufacturing and the opportunities it brings.

Mohon Miah

Trustee since 2023

Senior Curriculum Manager for A-level Humanities and Social Science at the Attlee 6th Form Academy. Degree in Software and Hardware Engineering and a teacher of A-level Law and Business Studies.

Belinda Johnson

Trustee since 2023

Belinda is one of Clement Attlee’s granddaughters.  She is a graduate of University of London and is now retired, following a career in medical research and health management in the NHS.  Belinda was a Trustee of three medical charities and is the honorary treasurer for the honorary stewards of Westminster Abbey and of the European Cancer Prevention Organisation.

Laetitia Lucy

Trustee since 2024

Laetitia is the Clerk to the board and supports the Foundation with administrative tasks. She is a social scientist, working as a Social Impact Consultant at The Young Foundation. She is passionate about empowering people to improve their lives, and leveraging private and philanthropic investment to create lasting social and economic impact in the most deprived neighbourhoods.
